Profile

Trial Attorney, Philanthropist, Entrepreneur, and Legal Analyst

Mark NeJame received both his Bachelor's Degree and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida. He graduated from UF’s College of Law in 1980. He is based primarily in Central Florida, with his main office in Orlando. He has routinely handled both State and Federal cases and clients throughout Florida, having practiced in numerous counties throughout the State, as well as in all of Florida’s Federal district courts, and the Middle, Northern, and Southern U.S. Districts. In addition to Florida, he represents clients and has handled cases in multiple other states and districts throughout the United States and the Caribbean, including Georgia, Texas, Massachusetts, California, New York, Virgin Islands, New Jersey, Michigan, North Carolina, and Virginia.

For the first 25 years of his 40-year career, Mark devoted his practice primarily to criminal defense. His local and national reputation were achieved by passionately representing thousands of clients charged with essentially every type of criminal offense. Mark’s reputation and that of the firm’s other criminal defense attorneys make them in high demand for those who find themselves—or a friend or family member—arrested, investigated, or charged. Because of the demand for him and his firm to provide additional types of legal services, NeJame Law expanded its practice areas many years ago. The firm’s legal specialties now include strong and equally well-respected Personal Injury, Immigration, Complex Family Law, and Civil/Commercial Litigation divisions.

Utilizing the same reputation, ethical approach, negotiation, and trial skills for which he and his firm have become renowned, NeJame Law's extraordinary Personal Injury division helps and represents individuals and families who have been injured by or killed in everything from motor vehicle accidents, truck accidents, slip and fall cases, premise liability, negligent security, injuries caused by excessive use of force by law enforcement, dog bites, and medical malpractice. The firm has secured multi-million-dollar awards and substantial and meaningful recoveries for its many personal injury clients. The firm’s motto of "Big Enough to Win, Small Enough to Care" especially applies to its Personal Injury division, in that compassionate and skilled attention is paid to each client to ensure that they receive the maximum recovery that the firm can possibly achieve.

Mark continues to be passionate about the rights of his clients and their entitlement to the best representation possible. He’s tackled and seen too many injustices in his illustrious career that have required the passion, skills, and dedication that Mark and NeJame Law offer. Although most of Mark's cases involve regular people dealing with extraordinary life events, Mark and NeJame Law have handled numerous high-profile cases involving judges, professionals, media celebrities, professional athletes, attorneys, politicians, law enforcement officials, and renowned businesspeople. Many of these cases are often kept off the public radar and resolved quietly. Others either necessitate public exposure or proper handling and management of the media. With his vast media experience, as well as his substantial legal background and experience, Mark and his team have immense experience in knowing how to properly navigate a case through such issues, landmines, and considerations.

NeJame Law also has Immigration, Family Law, Employment, and Commercial Litigation divisions that are similarly dedicated to the same measure of excellence NeJame Law demands. As Founder and Senior Partner, Mark is driven in making certain that his firm and its team of trial attorneys provide creative, aggressive, ethical, and compassionate representation in seeking the best results on behalf of their clients. Whether sexual harassment or assault, breach of a contract, unfair employment practices, cybersecurity, a civil dispute, or complex litigation matters, Mark and his team of experienced and skilled trial and litigation attorneys routinely represent companies and individuals who need a strong and respected attorney and law firm in their corner.

Among his many other awards and accolades, Mark is honored that NeJame Law has been voted in 2025 as the Best Law Firm in Central Florida by three separate readers' polls: the Orlando Sentinel, Orlando Magazine, and Orlando Style. In addition, NeJame Law was also voted a winner in multiple other legal subcategories of the publications, including Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, DUI Defense, and Family Law. Mark is also recognized in the Bar Register of Preeminent Attorneys, which acknowledges but a small number of the leading lawyers in the United States. Additionally, he is AV-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell—the highest ranking for both legal skills and ethics—given by the premier nationally-recognized attorney rating service.

Mark NeJame has been named among Orlando's 50 Most Powerful People for many years in Orlando Magazine's annual Most Powerful list. In 2025, he and his wife Josie were once again recognized among the 50 Most Powerful, highlighting their philanthropic and community involvement. Orlando Leisure magazine has also recognized Mark NeJame as among Orlando's Best Lawyers. He has been further identified in the esteemed Florida Trend magazine's Legal Elite as among the best attorneys in Florida. He has been the subject of numerous newspaper and magazine articles, being referred to as "Orlando's Own Johnny Cochran," " The Power-Worthy," "Defender is a Contender," "Orlando Power Couple," and “The Voice for the Voiceless."

Dedicated to service to others, Mark has been very active in a variety of civil, charity, and political capacities, having hosted multiple charitable and political events. Along with his wife, he is cofounder of and intimately involved with Runway to Hope, a charity that provides assistance, research, help, and support to children with pediatric cancer and their families. Runway to Hope has been voted or recognized as The Best Charity Event in Central Florida a staggering 15 times. He and his wife Josie have been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in Philanthropy by the Association of Fundraising Professionals for their years of ongoing dedication to helping others. He has been awarded Philanthropist of the Year

Mark was especially honored to have received the Humanitarian of the Year award by Onyx Magazine, Florida’s largest African American circulated magazine. Mark has been active with many charities and civic organizations as well. In 2026, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings asked Mark to serve once again on the renewed Jail Oversight Committee, as he had done many years previously. Although accepting of everyone, Mark is politically active as well, having hosted, among others, President Biden and Speaker Nancy Pelosi at his home. Mark is politically, civically, and socially connected on multiple levels and across a broad spectrum, and his reach crosses all political parties and lines.

Mark is also a media expert, having been contracted as a Legal Analyst and Commentator for multiple media outlets, including both CNN and HLN. Mark was also a Legal Analyst and commentator with Central Florida News 13, WFTV, and WKMG, providing regular legal commentary and insight on a multitude of legal matters occurring throughout Central Florida. He is routinely called upon by local and national media outlets to provide his expert legal analysis for high-profile cases throughout the U.S.

Mark NeJame is frequently sought out as a legal speaker, lecturer, and commentator, and has been recognized and given awards by numerous organizations. He has been a featured speaker for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National Association of Black Narcotics Officers, innumerable other law enforcement groups, the Florida Private Investigators Association, and had voluntarily taught law enforcement for approximately 25 years. He routinely received the highest marks from the law enforcement attendees for his knowledge, passion, and experienced insight.

Mark has appeared and interviewed on numerous national television programs, including The Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS Morning, Anderson Cooper 360, Piers Morgan, The Canadian News Network (CBC), Don Lemon, Geraldo Rivera, Nancy Grace, Dr. Phil, Larry King, Dr. Drew, American Greed, MSNBC, FOX News, Joy Behar Show, Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell, Studio B with Shepard Smith, Inside Edition, Greta van Susteren, Court TV, Ashleigh Banfield, TruTv, as well as a variety of ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox national and local news segments and affiliates.

Mark has twice been an Emmy nominee. His first nomination, along with the rest of the WKMG news team, was for providing ongoing legal analysis and commentary on the Casey Anthony trial. He won, along with the RunwaytoHope.org team, for a video profiling a pediatric cancer child and her family in their battle against pediatric cancer, submitted by Runway to Hope.

Always a serial entrepreneur, Mark has diversified over the years in a variety of businesses that include social media, real estate, entertainment, PPE supplies, service products, and marketing enterprises.

Mark’s interests include world traveling, business development, and gardening. He is a dedicated family man and loving husband to his wife Josie and father to their two daughters, Valentina and Alessandra. The NeJame Family motto is “To those whom much is given, much is expected,” something that he and his family strive for regularly. Compassionately helping others while being assertive in securing the best results possible as clients face their difficult times has been the cornerstone of Mark’s legal career, hence the firm’s tagline: “Big Enough to Win, Small Enough to Care.”
